Vashon Island, Wash., which has a population only 11,000 people, maintains a tool library that contains 1,500 tools. It is believed to be the biggest such library in America, and the local hardware store owners support it because it increases their sales of related items like paint, screws and nails.. If Vashon Island can have a tool library like that, why shouldn’t wherever you live have one too?
