A long and growing list of lawsuits have been filed against fossil fuel companies that seek to hold them accountable for the consequences of climate change. Puerto Rico became the latest plaintiff recently when it sued the oil and gas giants for $1 billion, claiming they have misled the public about climate change and delayed a transition to clean energy. More suits are bound to come.
