Although most people don’t realize it, clean energy production is growing at a staggering rate, and it now accounts for 22 percent of the nation’s electricity. The use of methane to generate electricity has leveled off, and the use of coal has sharply declined. Optimistic projections suggest the country will meet its 2030 and 2035 clean energy targets on time — especially if residential and other small arrays get behind the effort.
