Climate change is reducing areas where coffee can grow, and the change is happening so rapidly that experts say that by 2050 the price of coffee will be so high that only the very richest among us will be able to afford a cup. But not to worry. Startups are betting that substitutes made of date seeds and chickpeas are the answer, while others think they can grow coffee cells in laboratories.
