Scientists tell us that heat is the deadliest type of extreme weather, so they are finding ways to turn people’s clothes into tools against extreme heat. The latest example is a way to apply a chalk-based coating to clothes that reduces the temperature underneath those clothes by up to 8 degrees Fahrenheit.
